Bretts Cottage, Great Yarmouth

Client: Great Yarmouth Borough Council

Completion: January 2009

Bretts Cottage is located behind Bretts Warehouse corner site in the Rows in Great Yarmouth with its main frontage on the cross passage of Howard Street. Together the rows and cross passages form the essential circulation matrix of the core of the town.

The two derelict cottages to the rear of the courtyard gave an opportunity to build new additions that will create a cohesive urban block and establish a viable new use for the buildings and land.

Jeremy Stacey Architects have been appointed to convert the building into accommodation for young homeless people. Seventeen self-contained flats were be created together training facilities, offices and a media centre.
